Official Diagnosis

Brianna has officially been diagnosed with mild PDD-NOS (Pervasive Developmental Disorder-Not Otherwise Specified). PDD-NOS is a fraction of both Autism and Asperger's Syndrome that can be controlled with the right guidance. She is already seeing a speech therapist to help her communicate better, and her teacher is helping with her preparation for kindergarten, which gives us a year and a half to get her up to speed with her peers. We now wonder if she will even go to kindergarten due to the fact that she already knows everything they teach. She's already on a 1st grade level academically, who knows what she will learn by next summer. The good news is that people with PDD-NOS are usually very brilliant and successful at the career they choose. They become fixated on whatever sparks their interest and they go all the way with it. We already know she will go far in life and we are very anxious to see what she becomes (but we're not in too big of a hurry for her to grow up).
